Aliko Dangote is a Kano-born industrialist who built the Dangote Group into a pan-African conglomerate spanning cement, sugar, salt, and oil refining. The group’s Lagos-area refinery, commissioned in the 2020s, is one of the largest single-train refineries in the world. He is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most influential business figures and is active in philanthropy through the Aliko Dangote Foundation.
